Using Garritan instrument libraries within Pro Tools requires the AAX version of the ARIA Player plug-in.

For macOS, the latest version of ARIA Player is 2.026, which is Silicon-native. This version does not include an AAX plug-in. The latest AAX plug-in for macOS is based on version 1.872, which is Intel-only and must be manually placed after installing your Garritan library and ARIA Player 2.026 update.

For Windows, the latest version of ARIA Player is 1.959, and the included AAX plug-in included may not be recognized as valid by Pro Tools. When launching Pro Tools, Windows users may see this error message:

The following plug-ins failed to load because they are not valid 64 bit AAX plug-ins:

ARIA Player.aaxplugin

To solve this problem, an earlier version of the plug-in must be placed manually after installing installing your Garritan library.

Please follow the steps below to install and use the AAX plug-in.

-- Intel Macs--

  1. Close all open programs.
  2. Download and unzip the ARIA Player.aaxplugin (Mac).zip file attached to this article.
  3. Drag the unzipped version of the plug-in (ARIA Player.aaxplugin) to your Desktop.
  4. Press COMMAND+SHIFT+G. The Go to Folder window opens.
  5. Enter in the following location: /Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins
