Dorico Pro automatically scans the default Audio Plugin directories on both Mac and Windows computers.
While the installers for our Garritan libraries install in these default locations, you can double-check that the ARIA Player.vst components are in the correct place by looking in the following paths:
Windows:
- C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
- C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST2
Mac:
- Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST3
- Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST
Dorico Pro does not search for VST2 components by default even though it can utilize them. Garritan CFX Concert Grand and Garritan CFX Lite currently only have VST2 components available. In order to use those two libraries, you will need to white-list those plugins by taking the steps in Steinberg's How to use VST2 plug-ins in Dorico article.
Dorico Pro automatically loads plug-ins and enough plug-in instances for the instruments you add to your project according to the current playback template, but you can also load VST instruments manually using the steps in their user manual here: VST and MIDI Panel.
