Hello! I am an avid Finale user and had it on 2 PCs, one at home and one at work. My Work PC is a slow pile of garbage, has blue screens of death and is awful to use and my home PC is a $4,000 custom-built PC and is lightning fast: Both have PERFECT notation speeds.......

So...For Christmas, I was gifted a brand new iMac with an M1 chip. This computer was just opened yesterday! Guys...the input lag is atrocious! It takes a full second for any note, chord, or button press to engage. This never happened on my other computers so what is the problem? 

Please help!!

Thank you. This is my first time posting. My Finale is V25.5. and my new iMac info is attached.

Click a note, chord, button... etc.. there's a whole 1-second delay. It's unworkable. Thank you for any advice.

Finale 25.5 is no longer supported and has issues over MacOS Big Sur and later. Likewise, it is not Apple Silicon Native.

 

Finale 27.3, the current build, is Apple Silicon Native. Unless you are running plug-ins (including NotePerformer) that are not yet AS Native, there’s no need to run it over Rosetta 2. I recommend downloading the 27 demo and seeing how that works for you. If t does, you have an upgrade path in your User account.
