It's not just the new file but existing files that i've been working with for several days and even weeks.  So it's a program/system issue.  I don't see any event logs in the event viewer. Please guide me where to look for logs, etc.  This is very frustrating.

When I click on your name, I find no info that can help diagnosting your problem.

I'm facing a similar problem.  I click Expression Tool, and then double click, and it places "rit.".  I don't get a popup or anything else.  I'm using version 25, on Windows 10 machine.  I just wanted to change the tempo marking, but "rit" is all I get.  Nothing under the menu, either, that would allow such an action.

My first guess would be that the culprit is a stuck key on the computer keyboard, namely the key that triggers the metatool for the “rit.”.

The key could be stuck physically (hardware), or virtually (software).

To fix a virtually stuck key, reboot.

To fix a physically stuck key, try hitting the key repeatedly.
