So many bugs with Finale 25 for MAC (version 25.2.0.79)

Is anybody else having all these issues with the latest update of Finale?

1 - each time I make a PDF, the word "Score" is automatically added to the end of the name. When I specifically name my file, it adds this every time. So I have to go back and rename my PDFs each time.

2 - In playback controls, when the file is playing, I select pause or stop and the sound continues. Many times I have to click Pause or Stop 5 times before it finally does stop.

3- I open files made from a Windows version of Finale, and I try to play it. Nothing. I have to select "reassign playback signs" before it plays.

4 - When an image is added to a Finale file from a Windows computer, and I try to open it, the image is gone and is replaced by a box with the name file instead. So I always have to make PDFs from the Windows computer to save that image. I can never do it from my MAC.

5 - Sometimes the playback cursor doesn't follow the music playing and I have to manually scroll in studio view. Other times, the playback cursor doesn't even show up. I have to exit Finale, come back in for it to work again.

6 - In speedy entry, I'm trying to add a note, for example, a half note, but I get an arrow instead. So I can't add anything. I have to exit Finale and come back in again.

7- Speedy entry with a MAC seems very flimsy. If I do get a note (and not the arrow), it’s almost Impossible to always get a note right every time, even if I've zoomed it. Instead, if I'm trying to put a note on a space, it places the note a the line above or below instead.

8 - Sometimes the window gets a jumbled. I get images from my email window in Finale.

I'm on a MAC using OS X El Capitan, version 10.11.6

I don't have any issues with [PLAY]/[PAUSE[ or [STOP]. But the [l<<] Rewind to Beginning button just DOESN'T work.

What a shame! :(

Yes I have most of these problems. The update is really terrible

It sounds like you are creating PDFs via the Mac OS X Print dialog box.

Instead, use the Graphics Tool.

Using the Graphics Tool is faster, and you get PDFs in true Black-and-White (= smaller PDF file size):

Graphics menu > Export Pages…

In the dialog box Export Pages, set the Type to PDF.

Peter, thanks for the information about PDF files. Does it make a difference whether "Allow Transparency" is selected in the Export Graphics Dialog Box?

For what it's worth, I have not experienced any problems with playback, speedy entry, or jumbled windows in Fin 25.

Quoting the online manual:

Allow Transparency. Choose this option to export graphics with transparent backgrounds. This option is available when EPS, PDF, PNG, SVG, or TIFF is selected in the Type popup menu. When this option is selected, Finale's output is true black.

In addition, using Graphics/Export results in much smaller .pdf files, similar in size to those created in earlier versions. If you email the results, this is a big help.
