I've tried all options for exporting to midi and the resulting file cannot be placed into a DP session???  I do not find any troubleshooting steps regarding this, though I've had to deal witht he "unresponsive engine" which I still get the first time I launch, and had to load the ARIA file so Finale would find the Garritan sounds

Anybody?

IMac Sierra 10.12.3, 24 GB memory  DP 9.12

 

 

and I suppose i ask this, just in case- is there anyway to use other samples with Finale (instead of Garritan?  I have Komplete and other bundles)

Yes, people have used other sample sets with Finale. Start by asking Finale to scan for other VST's.

 

The new Finale (v25) will of course require 64-bit versions of the sample engines.

Finale likes sampling rates of 44.1kHz.

 

The unresponsive audio engine error normally means that another has taken over or there's a sampling rate conflict. This is less of an issue with Finale 2014.5 and 25 in Sierra than with earlier versions and OS.
