Windows, right? Not a Finale issue.

if this is a chronic issue, consider an external print server. This lets the print spoiler dump the job quickly—the server lines up the jobs for the printer and frees up your PC.

Back in the bad old days when all printers were quite slow, these were common accessories. New starts at $30 or so and go way up. Used are easy to find since few home setups need them anymore.

 I have no printer hooked up either. It's all networked of pdf.  This is the first time I had this happen.

OK, that makes sense. You need a print server. Get something simple with enough storage—shouldn't cost very much. Take the load off your PC.

For future generations, the problem is still (and probly always will be) there.
Try to disable "Print spooler" service and ty to start Finale again.
