Windows 8.1 - Finale Version 25

When I try to use the Smart Shape Tool it puts in other shapes from the palette, regardless of what I select. After closing and opening the program it may start working correctly, it may continue to put in the same incorrect shape, or it may switch to a different shape.

This is a known problem, referred to as the "Virtual Stuck Key Syndrome" by members of the old Make Music forum. As you've found, quitting and restarting Finale sometimes works, but occasionally shutting down the computer and restarting is necessary to clear the problem completely.

Has this been solved? I am having this problem with my Finale 27 as well, and it's pretty constant.

I haven’t experienced it for quite some time, so I assumed it was one of those “under the hood” corrections. But if you are experiencing it in 27, please send it in. Use the Submit a Request tab at the top of the page. I’m sure they won’t have a fix, but at least it will be registered as a problem, again.

Thanks - I have submitted a request; I now await the usual happy emails stating that they are "on the problem."
