I have a Samsung 2012 laptop with all necessary requirements to run Finale, and I have windows 10. Just started using v25. At first the lyrics tool worked fine for my SATB anthem. Now, nothing happens when I click on the lyrics tool. Occasionally, I can get it to work by some random chance, but the lyrics appear in the middle of the clef, with the clef lines running through it, or they may appear floating above the clef. Never had this problem with 2011. I have a deadline in 6 hours!!!

1) Make sure you are in the correct lyric Verse (or lyric Chorus or lyric Section).

From your description it sounds like you may have inadvertently switched to another Verse.

 

2) Make sure you are in the correct Layer.

3) You can adjust the Baseline for each Verse/Chorus/Section separately:

Lyrics menu > Adjust Baselines…
