I am using Finale 2014.5 for arranging for our band. When I have different versions of a song, I usually have it as one file and want to print it out on one or more pages. For the first version, Finale shows me the time signature at the beginning, as intended. When I start the next version of the song in a new accolade, there is NO time signature. When I chose "measure properties" and want to show the time signature, SOMETIMES it works. But in this case it shows me the same time signature also at the end of the previous accolade.

1) how can I hide this "additional" time signature?

In some cases it doen't show the time signature in the selected measure, but somewhere else. My suspicion: this has something to do with up with upbeat? E.g. when I select measure #32 and want to show the time signature, it shows at measure #34. Why??

2) how can I have the time signature where I want it?

3) is this a known bug in 2014.5?

Thanks!

Time signatures can be forced to appear anywhere, and  "additional time signatures" can be hidden by using the Measure Tool. Double click on the measure to open the Measure Attributes Window.

Mike & Arnold: thanks for your replies! Basically that was exactly, what I also tried before, without success.

Yesterday evening I think I found the reason: I had some measures in my score, that seemed to be "innumberable". When I marked all measures, selected "include in measure numbering" in the "Measure attributes" and let me show the measure number of ALL measures, there were 8 measures "in a row", that did not show measure numbers. Even when I selected them alone and changed to "include in measure numbering", it showed NO effect and was unselected when I opened it again. I have not the slightest idea why....

Then I inserted some new measures, copied the contect of the "strange" measures to the new one and deleted the "strange" measures. Now everything is fine and also time signatures appear where they should. Thanks!
