I'm running Finale 25 under Windows 10 Pro (I think!).  After completing a small SATB choral work recently, I attempted to save each line separately as an audio rehearsal track.  However, in every case, the playback only goes as far as a fermata a few measures after the opening--and then stops altogether!  HELP!!

Sincerely,

Tom Nichol

1) If you play back the Finale document, then does the playback stop at the same “fermata a few measures after the opening”?

2) What playback device are you using in this particular Finale document?

Take a look in the MIDI/Audio menu.

Does it say “Play Finale Through MIDI”?

- Or “Play Finale Through VST”?

The file plays back all the way through, on all four voices together, without any problem.  When I played back each file separately before exporting it as an audio file, I had no problem there, either.  My MIDI/Audio setting is "Play Finale Through VST."

Since your MIDI/Audio setting is “Play Finale Through VST”, recording to audio file is done in “real time”.

In Other Words:

If the piece has a duration of 3 minutes, then saving to audio takes 3 minutes.

My first guess is that you did not wait long enough for Finale to finish the audio file.

This “recording to audio” is only done in “real time” with “Play Finale Through VST”.

The audio file is saved right away with “Play Finale Through MIDI”.

OK.  I'll try doing it again, both ways, and report back to you on Monday.  Thanks for the prompt response!
