Hi Rich,

This is primarily based on the way that the time signature for your piece is defined. In the Time Signature dialog box, 6/8 can be defined many ways, but it sounds like your's may be based on the eighth note? Can you try choosing the dotted quarter note as the Beat Duration and then add the value "2" to the Number of Beats field?

Redefining your time signature this way should help with grouping!

I cannot find a way to connect my eighth notes in groups of three.  I never had this problem before I upgraded.  What happened and how do I fix it?  Thanks ahead of time. Barbara Heastings, Long time Finale user. 

Are you also in 6/8, 9/8 or 12/8?
