The title is self explanatory. I can't "lock selected measures" (1-4) into one system. I go shift/command/M and it gives me the dialog window, but It keeps measure 5 on the end of the system no matter what I do.

Help?

I am running Mac OS X 10.11.6 with a Mac Pro (Early 2008)

2x2.8 Ghz Quad Core Intel Xeon

8 GB of Ram

Welcome to the forum!

* What version of Finale are you using?

Regarding your problem:

… no matter what I do …

Please specify the steps you've already taken, so that we can rule out things.

Have you e. g. tried

- quitting Finale, and launching it again?

- logging out of your Mac OS X user account, logging in again?

- rebooting the computer?

- trashing Finale’s Preferences file? (you must re-launch Finale after trashing the Preferences)

Furthermore:

- Does the problem happen in all Finale documents, or only in specific documents?

- Take a look in

Preferences - View

What is selected in the pane Measure Numbers?

“Display Defined Measure Numbers” or “Display Actual Measure Numbers”?

Is there a pickup measure in that system?

Can you move m. 5 down by selecting it, and tapping the down arrow key?

Why not just click on measure 5 with the selection tool and press the down arrow?

In Windows the Fit Measures shortcut is CTRL-M rather than SHIFT-CTRL-M. Usually the Mac versions simply substitute CMD for CTRL.

(Oops: I see Mike has gotten there before me.)
