I seem to have an issue with Finale hogging the speakers.  When iTunes is up and playing music, if Finale is executed, the music stops and Finale takes control of the speakers.  This is not forward thinking.  If I'm composing a piece, and NEED to have the song playing to do so, it doesn't help that I cannot use both apps with the speakers.  This forces me to use a separate physical device.  Are there settings that can be used to allow this to work?

This is more likely a soundcard driver issue than a Finale issue. To help you further we would have to know what computer operating system you are using. Please be as specific as possible, not just Windows or Mac but Windows 7 vs. 10 or El Capitan vs. Sierra can be important to know.

In older versions, sample rate makes a big difference. I use Dragon Dictation which required my audio to be 48kHz while Finale had a fit if the system wasn't set at 44.1kHz.

Although this was fixed in Finale 25, I don't know if PM 2014 has this issue or not.
