This can't be this hard.  JazzPerc font gets me this for the F# - look at the D/F# (Document Options>Fonts:Chord>alteraton)Switching to JazzCord for chord alterations in document options gets me the sharp fine but now look at the Bb (Document>Options:Chord>alteration)  the Broadway copyist font works OK but what about the jazz font am I missing here?

If I understand you correctly, the issue here is solely the accidentals, right?

To get the accidentals right, use a music font for the accidentals.

And which fonts are music fonts?

Well, the Jazz font is a music font. And the Broadway Copyist font. And the Maestro font.

But the JazzText font is not a music font (it is a text font).

The JazzCord font is not a music font (it is a text font).

What you need, is a font that has a Flat accidental in slot #98 (in a text font slot #98 usually has a lowercase ‘b’), a Sharp accidental in slot #35 (in a text font slot #35 usually has the ‘#’ symbol).

All music fonts have that.

Thank you for the reply.  Yes, we're talking solely the accidentals.  Why I should have to go checking "slot #98" somewhere seems like overkill for the end user but at least that offers up some kind of explanation.

RE: jazz fonts.  Seems like they always worked fine before 25.4.0.144.  Maybe not - I can't bet money on that.  Not to mention when I select jazz, jazzcord, and/or jazzperc the "preview window" show flats, sharps, rests, and NO TEXT, etc. as does the Broadway Copyist Perc font.  Seems like if those are "text" files they should work AT ALL for accidentals and shouldn't have a name like cord or perc on them.

Seems like these names do not accurately describe what they are then.  The jazz text and Broadway Copyist "text" fonts look like text in the preview window as does the jazz text.

Again, I appreciate the prompt response and this issue is probably out of your sphere of influence.  And you are correct, selecting "jazz" fixes all those problems.  I thought I had selected every font on my computer trying to resolve this at one time or another but apparently not. I must have messed something up creating a template somewhere would be my best guess.

I have been a Finale user since at least the mid 80s.  Every time I see/pay for a new version I think it will be better than the previous but that has not been my experience.  I would switch to the competition but the learning curve is not worth it and 20 years of experience working around the few dumb things that Finale does has me stuck here.

What's wrong with the default fonts? If you don't like the Broadway set, load the Jazz default library. Why are you using the percussion font for chords?

In my observations, most problems come when users try to mix-and-match, rather than sticking with the presets. Just my opinion, of course.
