I understand I can use layers to have two different rhythmic patterns on the same staff.  My question is ...

For clarity sake, I would like to use colors two differentiate the notes for Layer 1 versus Layer 2.  For example ... all notes for Layers 1 appear in black and all notes for Layer 2 appear in blue.

Is this possible?

By default the Layer 1 notes appear in black (on the computer screen), and the Layer 2 notes appear in red (on the computer screen).

You can edit/change these Display Colors, in

Preferences - Display Colors

 

To print the Display Colors, in the Print dialog box choose

Print: Display colors
