As I said I have tried the Plug-in above, but am not sure if my wording is correct "Beam Over Barlines Create".... in any case, it does not work. I also tried "Move/Copy Layers..." without success.

If you are using any "homemade" Mac shortcuts with Finale, perhaps you could give me the exact phrase and I will try it out here.

Ray, a lot of those "nested" commands don't take too well to shortcuts. I've had the same problems, when I've tried setting up shortcuts through the Mac Keyboard. All of my "single" shortcuts work fine. I've tried using the >, and even -> to indicate the nested commands, but without success. You might look into one of the keyboard macro apps.

When shortcuts can't work, scripting and macros do. They are often a pain to set up, however—and then you have to trigger the script with its own shortcut. For frequent, repetitive tasks, it can't be beat.
