I run Finale V25 on windows 7

How can I place a song ending , (with dark measure line), in the middle of a song. For example, in a 30 measure song, with chorus and verses, where the song begins with a refrain, and the verses follow it, how are the heavy measure lines placed on measure 16, (and not on measure 30), with measure 16 only played once, at the end of the song, (even though it stands in the middle of the chart)?

Are you asking how to make the verses and repeats play correctly, or, simply how to put a final barline in the middle of the piece?

If the latter, with the selection tool, select the measure and right click. From the dropdown, choose Barline>Final.

If the former, look up Repeats in the help file.

Thanks Mike. The barline line option in the drop down menu was what I was looking for. I was not aware of that option. It did the job perfectly.Thank you. I've also had trouble making the repeats work as I needed them to. I find the guidelines a little confusing. How would you advise setting navigation for the following repeat route:

1 - 15, (jump 16)

17 - 38 (repeat both 3X)

1-16

Last time bar one through bar sixteen?

William Trout,

I am not sure I understand the exact playback route.

Could you perhaps spell it out “in full”?

E. g. like this:

1 - 15

17 - 38

1 - 15

17 - 38

1 - 15

17 - 38

1 - 16

I agree with Peter; we need a tad more info. But I'm wondering if maybe you would consider setting up 1-15, then 17-38 as ending 1,2,3 (renumbered as 16-37) and using the current 16 as a 4th ending, measure 38. So you would do:

1-15

16-37 verse 1

1-15

16-37 verse 2

1-15

16-37 verse 3

1-15, 38.

Full Finale already has the means to accomplish this. You can change the text of the commands and still get the same effect by reproducing the settings.
