When I select the location to export the XML file and click save, I get the mac pinwheel and the program stops responding and needs to be forced quit.
Any ideas from anyone?
You don't give enough info for anyone to know so here are three blind guesses:
a) You are trying to export to a drive or directory where you don't have Write privileges. This is by far the most likely.
Don't export it to wherever "there" is and see what happens. In 25 on a Mac, the default is Documents/Finale Files. If this works, you can then copy or move it to its destination—if you can.
b) You are using a VI or plugin that doesn't like MusicXML.
c) you are using a font that doesn't like what you are doing.
