I have a two-year old 21 1/2 inch iMac with Operating System OS X El Capitan 10.11.6.  I would like to burn my Finale files onto CDs. I looked in the Manual under "Audio and audio files" and found the sentence: "To burn audio files to a CD, follow the instructions included with your CD burning software to organic the files into tracks and burn them to a recordable CD."

I have no idea what that means. I don't know how to access by CD burning software. I've never tried to burn a CD before.

Help!!!

… I would like to burn my Finale files onto CDs …

It is not clear to me what you want to do.

Do you want to make backup copies of your Finale documents - on a CD data disc?

Do you want to create audio files from your Finale documents, and burn the audio files onto a CD music disc that you can play in a CD player?

Finale documents and audio files are two different things.

Following up on what Peter says, we're not sure what you mean.

The Mac OS has that ability built in (as long as you have a CD burner connected via USB or built-in). Use iTunes.

There are other ways but some are OS specific. Since OS 10.11, some methods such as Disk Utility, no longer work.

If you become a CD burnin' fool, you will get tired of using iTunes to make disks. Commercial apps such as Toast make the process fast and intuitive. Toast is available in the App Store but I prefer the standalone version (many resellers carry it for half off).
