I am using Finale 25.4 on a Windows 10 PC. In older versions of Finale there was a feature that allowed individual staff spacing. A second handle was activated at the bottom of each staff that allowed dragging without affecting all other staves. This really came in handy when lyrics and notes overlapped. How can I activate the feature in this version?

That old feature has been replaced by a new and easier way to do page layout.

The old feature involved switching between the Page Layout Tool and the Staff Tool.

In the new way to do it you stay in the Staff Tool:

1) Drag a staff handle, and you move the staff as well as alle the staves below the staff.

2) Hold down Ctrl (or Alt - I am not sure) while dragging a staff handle, and only that staff moves.

If you do 1) or 2) from Page View, then only that particular system is affected.

If you do 1) or 2) from Scroll View, then only Scroll View is affected.

To transfer the Scroll View staff spacing to Page View, switch to Page View, and go to

Staff menu > Respace Staves…

In the dialog box Respace Staves, choose the option “Set to Scroll View Spacing”.
