I'm trying to create an ultra simple click track using a MIDI drum staff.   I am using a closed high-hat sound.   I believe the velocity is 100 for each of these notes placed (MIDI tool indicates this), the problem is that the accents are not right.  First, there shouldn't be any accent if all velocities (and notes) are the same (human playback disabled) - which is the case here (as near as I can tell).   Second, I don't see how to adjust the veleocity value.  I have Finale 25 (using macOS). Within Finale I clicked the Help menu and from there got to these instructions (however the instructions indicate a menu item that I do not have).

Bullet number two does not exist on my version of Finale/setup

  1. Choose the MIDI tool . The MIDI tool menu appears.
  2. Choose MIDI Tool > Edit Key Velocities.   <-- I do not have this menu item (or don't know how to get to this)

I did not expect this to be so complicated - if anyone knows how to resolve this I'd be rather thankful.

I could be wrong here, but I think that you have come across an error in the online manual.

The menu item is not called Edit Key Velocities, but rather just Key Velocities.
