While sending updates of an arrangement to drill and percussion writer, finale 2014.5 is not letting me export as an mp3 file. Every other export option (including PDF) works just fine. Any fixes or just workarounds?  

 

Finale 2014.5 on a Mid 2012 MacBook pro running OS Sierra

First, restart the computer.

 

If still no joy, trash the preferences.

You cannot export directly to mp3 if you are using VST (such as Garritan sounds) rather than "Play Through MIDI."

Correct, of course. But that shouldn't give Could not Create error. It just wouldn't have the MP3 option in the save dialogue box.

Off Topic: Adrian, how did you get your avatar image posted? The Profile page indicates that it can't be changed. Is it loaded somewhere else?

I have no idea about the avatar. I think it was automatically transferred to this Forum from some earlier site/forum I was on. Sorry I can't help more.
