Using the Text > Font menu option, apparently so.

this effect -strikeout- doesn't show up in Mac...

Finale for Mac doesn't have that as a choice. I tried creating text in Pages, which does have the strikethrough option, but when pasted into Finale, the words were there, but the line was not.

Evidently this is a bug in the way Finale set up the Mac text styles.

No, it doesn't. From what I read, the strike through is a text setup issue, not fonts. So, if Finale doesn't include that ability, there isn't anything to do. The only workaround I can think of would be to set it up in another program, export the clipping as a graphic, and import that graphic into Finale. Fine if you only need it once or twice, but pretty inconvenient otherwise.

Like Mike Rosen I am unable to make the strikethrough format appear in a Finale document.

And, what app on the Mac? It didn't work for me, in Pages.

Indeed that web site works for me, too - and I get  ̶S̶t̶r̶i̶k̶e̶t̶h̶r̶o̶u̶g̶h̶ ̶t̶e̶x̶t̶ in Finale.

It is neither practical nor beautiful, but it works.
