Hi.

I bought Finale 2014 quite a while ago and recently I also bought Personal Orchestra 5. Afterwards I always used to be able to use it, and the Aria Player without any problems. However, I cleaned up my computer about a week ago and reinstalled Finale and Garritan, but whenever I want to try and use Personal Orchestra via the Aria Player, I can't select Aria Player neither in the Score Manager or the Device Setup menu. I checked and I have the Aria Player dll file in the VST support map and I have my GPO5 soundmap located in the data folder as well.

Can anyone help me out?

Ok, let's start with the basics. When you reinstalled Finale, did you run both installers in the download? You must run the Garritan Instruments for Finale installer, too or certain paths will not be set. Then reinstall GPO 5. This works for most.

You should have a standalone Aria Player. On the Mac, it is found in Applications/Garritan Aria Player, not sure about Win10. When you open it, you should see every application that uses Aria. Here is a screen shot from my Mac:

One more thing. The current download of 2014 will install as 2014.5. Make sure that's the version you are actually running. They install alongside each other and the icons look nearly the same.

Hi Mike,

When I open up the Aria Player by itself, it recognizes both the samples from the default SmartMusic Softsynth library and GPO 5. Also when I open the Sound Map Priority in Finale it recognizes Garritan Instruments for Finale, SoftSynth and GPO 5 libraries. But the Aria player is still nowhere to find in Finale. I might go crazy soon!

Once again, when you ran the Finale installer, did you also run the installer for Garritan Instruments for Finale? If not, the Aria Player will not appear. You have to run it every time you install or update Finale — the GIfF installer is part of the download but does not run automatically.

Yes when I installed Finale the Garritan Instruments for Finale did pop up and I installed it. Isn't there any way to use GPO 5 without the Aria player?
