I use Finale 25.4 with Windows 10. I have been experimenting with audio sync, using tap tempo, with a track from a CD - let's say, a Buddy Guy song. It's really hard to get the synch to last more than a few bars. I tried using a track I made in Cubase with a click - say, 90 bpm, load it in Finale and sync it with a document at 90 bpm. It works, but not all the time time. Where do I go wrong?

Probably because the audio track is not playing to the same computerized tempo. Real musicians speed up, slow down, phrase… These are the things that Human Playback tries to replicate, but it's never going to exactly match a recording from beginning to end.

I don't know enough about Finale's Rewire capabilities to know if that would help (running the tempo track in Cubase and using it to drive Finale), but I thought I'd mention that. Cubase would have to run in non-exclusive mode to make that work.

Thanks for mentioning the Rewire option. I will definitely try that.
