Hi,

Finale 25 and Mac OS 10.13.1

I just tried for the first time to split a measure after 2nd beat - in this case common time including some semiquaver triplets.

I am trying to move half the measure to the next staff.

Using the plug-ins, measure, split measure... resulted in freezing.

Any help much appreciated.

Worked fine for me. Can you post a screenshot of your measure, before you tried to split?

Here it is... although I had the same problem with a test... just 4 quarter notes and again the freeze...

Thank you for this link, Thomas... I re-tried the plug-in and it finally worked but only in common time and only after the 1st beat ! After reading the old forum comments, I have reverted to changing time sigs and invisible bar-lines.

After having sorted out split measures, I am now having a hell of a time with clef changes. Perhaps due to the measure numbering (I unchecked "include in measure numbering") changing clefs has become a nightmare, with clef changes not happening in the measures selected.

Any help much appreciated !

This is a well known issue.

Go to Finale’s

Preferences - View

In the pane Measure Numbers, you have “Display Defined Measure Numbers” selected, right?

Instead, select “Display Actual Measure Numbers”, and from now on new clef changes will happen where you expect them to happen.

Do not worry! This setting for measure numbers does not affect the layout in your documents - it only affects Finale’s display in the dialog boxes (= it is a program specific setting, not a document specific setting).

Hello Ray,

The measure numbering issue was supposedly fixed in the update from a year ago. What version number of 25 are you using?

Thanks,
Steve
