On MacOS10 and using Finale 25

I'm trying to create my own shape in the shape designer window (a filled in crescendo hairpin basically) for overpressure on string instruments.

I've managed to create a polygon which is the shape and size I require however when I try to fill it nothing happens. I've tried selecting different points of the shape, using the select all command but nothing seems to make any difference.....

Is there something I'm missing? It's my first time creating shapes in finale - found a great post in the forum on how to do this but the fill function doesn't seem to work the way the finale manual says it should.....

Help please!! I'm sure there is an expert out there who knows how to do this.

Thanks in advance :-)

First of all, the shape must be closed.

If you created the triangle with the sub-tool Polygon Tool, then the shape is closed, and can get filled with Black.

(If you created the triangle with the sub-tool, Line Tool, as 3 lines, then the triangle shape may not be closed)

To fill a shape with Black, use the sub-tool Selection Tool.

Click the shape to select it.

Shape Designer menu > Fill > Black

Thanks Peter,

After reading your comment I realised I hadn't closed the shape properly (as in double clicked) which is why it wouldn't fill. Makes sense now!!

Thanks very much :-)
