How is your time signature defined?

I have entered every form of 6/8.  6 eighth notes, 2 dotted quarter, even 3/4 and designating the click note to 50% of the beat for MIDI click.

Still just get clicks on 1,3 and 5.  Finally I just did the arrangement in Cubase and imported MIDI files.

I'm sure there is an easy solution but...I'm new to this program having switched from another one recently.  I'm finding so much that is just not very intuitive.

On a blank score, I set the 6/8 time sig to "count" six 1/8 notes. I get a click for each 1/8 note. Not sure why it's not working for you.

Can you describe exactly the steps you are taking to setup the time signature and other settings?

I've tried setting initial setting in the setup wizard.

I've tried creating a blank document and setting the time signature to 6 eighth notes.

Funny thing:  When recording I get 3 quarter note clicks.  When playing back I get either 6 eighth note clicks or 2 dotted quarter clicks.

In the "count off and click" settings I don't see an option for choosing a quarter or eighth note click.  When I choose MIDI click

I just get an option for click duration in %s.  

OK, for recording try this:

Select the HyperScribe Tool and go to [Playback and/or Click...] from the HyperScribe Menu.

A Dialog Box should pop up where you can set the tempo and beat for recording. Make sure you select the appropriate beat duration.

You are best off using a temporary percussion track to create your own eighth-note-based click track, which you can do away with later.
