I added staves to my score but don't see linked parts for them? Apologies if this has been addressed, but I did not find an answer after a search.

Welcome to the forum!

What were your steps when you added staves to the score?

Did you use the Instrument List?

Or did you use the Staff Tool?

Yes, unfortunately I used the Staff Tool...is my easiest way out to create staves with the Instrument List and cut and paste?

… is my easiest way out to create staves with the Instrument List and cut and paste? …

I am not sure what you mean by your words “way out”.

Are you still talking about adding staves to the score?

When I add instruments via the Instrument List, I automatically also get linked parts.

That must be the easiest way.

I can not see how they could be added more easily - until we get a Finale version that can read minds.

By "way out," I meant the easiest solution to fixing my mistake. I created new instruments with the Score Manager and copied and pasted from the ones created with the Staff Tool.

When I create new parts for my score in the Score Manager, I don't have to copy anything. I may need to edit the linked parts, but the music from the full score is already there.

Right, but I need to move the information from the systems created with the Staff Tool into the newly created parts.

Jack,

You can do this and the linked parts should be created automatically for you.

Window>Score Manager> Add Instrument

If you don't see the linked part for whatever reason because I don't know why this wouldn't work you can look here.

Document>Manage Parts Here you can edit and change how they appear in your linked parts.

If one hasn't already formatted linked parts, one can just  us Manage Parts to regenerate all of them (which will delete existing parts before creating the new ones).
