When I practice my instrument and want to play with Finale, I need repeated replays. Is there a way to make Finale repeat part or the whole of a score in an endless loop (without having to change the score)?

One can use repeat signs and tell Finale how many times to repeat, which could be a rather large number if I recall correctly.

Thank you for your answer.

However, I would prefer to do it without having to change anything in the score. The measures that I practice change from minute to minute.

Also, it would be helpful if you could set a delay before the replay starts, so you have time to grab your instrument.

Mathias Foldager,

How about making a backup copy of the Finale document, and customize the playback of the backup copy?

In that way you can both “eat the cake and keep it”.

I see what you mean, but I think that would be a bit clumsy. When you have practiced one passage, you often move on to another passage, and then you have to change once more in the score.

In Crescendo, if some measures are selected, playback will play them, instead of the entire score. If there is a note selected, playback will play the score from it to the end. Much easier. (It has no endless looping, though)

Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

If you have watched the nature of Finale's updates in recent years, you will not expect this infinite-repeat suggestion to be included any time soon.
