Hi, I'd like to type Czech letters in the lyrics but the fonts don't exist, and Ctrl + paste from Word doesn't seem to work.

Example ě doesnot copy into the lyrics. How can this be done?

Same with š ž č ř  etc

I don't know about typing them in but they copy in for me.

As also copy and pasting here on the forum, Česká abeceda dlouhé á; á s čárkou, from Word.

EB, did you select a Czech keyboard input, or does Windows have another way of doing the accented letters?

I just copied some Czech text and pasted it into Finale text block

Ctrl + paste from Word doesn't seem to work.

I also used Word's copy and paste, too, both seem to work. I did not try to type the Czech alphabet directly into Finale. I would imagine if you have a Czech keyboard and/or a Czech font it will work as expected.

Hi Ernest, when copied from a text block it does indeed work! thanks for the suggestion!

Still weird that you can't copy straight from Word..

Thanks!

Finale 2014 was released nearly 10 years ago and is no longer supported.

There is buzz about the Nepomuk text font with emphasis on the needs of Czech and Icelandic composers. I do not know if it can be used in 2014.5 or if you have to upgrade to Finale 27 first but you should be able to find out. The developer posts here now and then but hangs out at the link below where you can read more about its development:

It can be downloaded at this link:

JanJoost,
It copied from Word without issue. It should do so for you. Write what you need in Word and copy/paste. I did not try lyrics but try to copy/paste into the lyric window.
