1. Do you have a lot of plug-ins and VIs? If so, wait till Finale crashes (might take awhile), then start again. Finale needs to verify everything and this can take awhile. If you just installed the NotePerformer update, that can trigger it, too. If it eventually comes up, you should be good.
2. If that doesn't work, try removing Finale completely, then rebooting. Support will often recommend this first (and it often works). Here’s the link for complete removal:
I have found over the years that the three biggest culprits are your drivers. They need to be up to date. All of them, the video, sound and printer drivers. The print spooler can be a problem, You can disable it and try starting Finale after it starts you can restart the print spooler. If I were you I would try that first.
If you do the complete uninstall of Finale and reinstall a clean version and the print spooler was messing you up it will still mess you up most likely.
About the driver updates, Windows doesn't do a good job at that. You need to go to the manufacturer that made your video and sound and printer to see if they have a newer driver. Windows thinks it is running fine so everything must be ok so it doesn't look for updates very thoroughly.
