Does one need the Personal Orchestra, Jazz, Concert Band to the real instrument sounds for sound and playback on Finale, or is it installed on Finale? Because I tried playing it with the VST sound, and it plays a synthetic sound instead. If I don't need, how can I fix it to get the authentic instrument sounds
Finale comes with two sets of sounds: the SmartMusicSoftSynth, which is synthesized, and GIFF ("Garritan Instruments for Finale"), which is recorded samples of real instruments. So make sure which set you are using and hearing. The Sound Map Priority defines which library is loaded by default.
The other Garritan libraries contain more samples, with extra articulations and playing styles, as well as controls for breath, vibrato and other facets of 'real' playing. These are additional purchases.
