I ran into a new problem with a big band piano part I am putting into Finale. I need to write this chord, which is an F/Ab7. When I try to enter this polychord, Finale wipes out the 7 and just F/Ab appears. Could you walk me through how to get the F/Ab7 to get into the piano part.

I am running the latest Finale 26 on a PC Desktop Computer
When there's a slash, the letter after is the bass note. No such note as A7

As Mike Halloran points out, the general convention is that polychords are notated with a horizontal “fraction line”, not with a slash.
One way to do so:
Using the entry method Type Into Score, enter the lower chord symbol (e. g. Ab7)
Hit the UpArrow key. The blinker moves up above the chord symbol.
Enter the upper chord symbol (e. g. F).
Use the Expression Tool to add a horizontal “fraction line” between the two chord symbols.
