Is it possible to automatically re-number each line starting on every page, instead of it following the bar number?

1

2

3.......

This is for a method book.

Automatically, I don't think so.

But it's not that hard to do. Use an expression from the rehearsal mark category. IN the default file, one of the choices is "1, 2, 3, 4, ..."  If you place one of these where you want it to start, then copy & paste that expression to all of the other lines, you'll get what you need.

Got it!

Is there a way to start at number 1 again on the next page?

Or, is it only set up for sequential numbering?

It's setup for sequential numbering.

But, if you want the next page to start at 1, then duplicate the expression and use the duplicate for the next page.

How do you copy and paste?

I'm trying the selection tool but it's not working.

Thank you!

Anthony Giancola,

Are you talking about Copy & Paste? (copying and pasting music)

I just tried the Selection Tool, and it is working for me.

Or are you talking about Jeffrey Turner’s advice? (duplicate the expression and use the duplicate for the next page)

In the window Expression Selection, click on the expression to select it.

Then, click the button Duplicate.

Weird.

The number system 1, 2, 3 works for the 1st and 2nd page, and shows for all my other pages the way we wanted it to.

Saved it, logged back in, and from page 3 to the end of the document, it all went back to sequential numbering.
