Hi Peter,

Thanks for your reply.

I have checked all four movements once more and they are correct with all informations for each voice.

"the tempo marking does not show up" - i.e. I create the tempo marking like Allegro, Andante etc. and relate it to the first measure in the score. Then when merging the files, this information is missing in all four movements.

Another weird observation is, that rehearsal marks, i.e. "measuring number" is missing in the third movement, but present in movement no. 1,2 and 4???

I have also checked the measures where I use layer 2 for cue notes. In the seperate movements they are present correctly, but as I have informed previously, in the merged file, layer 2 notes are incorrectly positioned.

Anyhow, yesterday I made some experiments when merging the files, and when I merge movement no. 1 and 2, everything is okay, likewise when I merge movement 3 and 4, everything is okay, i.e. all information is correctly displayed.

I have no idea or explanation for these phenomena, but I can accept to do the merging in this way.

Kind regards

John

… the merged file for all four movements …

I suppose that your words “merged file for all four movements” mean “the single Finale (merge) document containing all four movements” - right?

A tempo mark is an expression.

Open “the single Finale (merge) document containing all four movements”.

Take a good look in the dialog box Expression Selection.

Do the tempo marks show up in the dialog box Expression Selection?

I suppose that you are still talking about “the single Finale (merge) document containing all four movements” - right?

Since you have successfully created a merge document containing movement 1 & 2 (let us call it “Document 1-2”), and since you have succesfully created a merge document containing movement 3 & 4 (let us call it “Document 3-4”), then, what happens if you merge Document 1-2 with Document 3-4?

Something else you could try (as a test):

Document menu > Show Active Layer Only

{Show Active Layer Only} also means {Edit Active Layer Only}.

When {Show Active Layer Only} is toggled on, you can switch to Layer 2, and copy/paste only Layer 2 (Layer 1 will not be affected).

In that way you can copy/paste only the Layer 2 cue notes.

You could try pasting the Layer 2 notes into an empty document, or you could try pasting the Layer 2 notes into (a backup copy of) “the single Finale (merge) document containing all four movements”.
