1) Is the half tone a chromatic half tone?

2) Is the problem playback or layout - or both?

If it is layout, does it show both on the computer screen and on the printed page?

Please specify the steps you’ve already taken (to solve the problem), so that we can rule out things.

Have you tried -

- rebooting?

- trashing your Finale preferences file?

- testing a brand new user account?

(just to mention a few of the usual steps for trouble-shooting)
