Some of my students experience erratic behaviour from the simple entry caret.

The caret note is misplaced in a way that the notes appear about an octave above. If they want to click in a G4 Finale enters G5.

This is very frustrating for the students. Restarting Mac and/or Finale doesn't help much; the Problem will come alive soon.

Interested in Tips and Ideas for solutions.

I have no idea what is causing that problem, sorry.

 

Some general ideas:

 

1) increase the Zoom level to a higher Zoom percentage.

 

2) Go through the tutorial document “EntryExercises.musx”, and learn how to input with the keyboard.

Thank you for your answer. I have never experienced this problem myself so it's very hard to help students when it arises.

Per, since this is a problem none of the experienced users have seen, but students have, perhaps there is some user error involved. Could you suggest that they join this forum, so we can get some more detail?
