Hello all!

Working through a music theory class and trying to figure out how to have one note in a measure - screenshot provided, cant reproduce. In the shot you will see the first measure is 3/4 with a single note. I need to recreate this in 4/4 - but cant get that measure with a single note.  Turned off automatic rests, but when I put a single note if still plays through the 4/4 timing... thanks for any help...

You would have to assign a 1/4 time signature to that measure. But we need more information about what you’re doing, or see more of the score, to give you further suggestions.

Can you do a pickup measure mid-piece? I thought they only worked at the beginning.
