I have 2 instruments on 1 staff in the score, which sometimes play in unison and sometimes in divisi.

The staff is written in voices currently, but I can change it to layers if it helps. I will need to know if I need to copy unisons too, but on the score only 1 note with 1 stem should be displayed in the score.

In the parts, I want both instruments to show on the same part, but split into 2 staves only when they are different, like this example:

How can I do it?

Take a look at JW Staff Polyphony.

I did, I don't see the option for what I'm looking for.

It depends. If both instruments use the same flute VI, for example, then no. If one is a flute and the other is an oboe, then yes.

but I can change it to layers if it helps.

Layers are your friend. Once you get used to them, you'll wonder how you did without.

Alright, so I moved the voicing to layers without copying unison since it's the same instrument (clarinet 1 and 2). Now how do I create a part which splits into 2 staves, one for each layer, and is a single staff when they have the same notes?
