I've been using Finale for years and this is the first time seeing this. I'm editing someone else's work in F27 and seeing yellow notes in a Bass part. I don't see them anywhere else in the score except for one note in the Guitar part. The notes play normally in playback. If I go in with Speedy Entry and re-input the notes, they are all black. I've restarted the program and no change. Ideas? Or is this some feature that I'm missing. Obviously not an "out of range" issue. Thanks.

Try exporting as XML, and importing back into Finale.

This was happening while I was editing the parts within the score. Once I extracted the parts, all the notes were black. Obviously, not a critical bug but something I've never seen before. The piece was in 12/8. Don't know if that had anything to do with it.

Not a bug. There are a few possible reasons but, without more info and since you did not create the part, we'll never know.
