Finale 27 has been working fine and I'm just about finishing a big band chart. Suddenly it will not start. I get the  'load recent files' which, btw does not show the entire file name (only the beginning - very frustrating!) and then I'm back to my desk top. As it is now, I cannot  finish the chart for my upcoming big band gig. Windows 11. I tried the workaround (disabling the print spooler) - that did nothing. Helmut Licht.

What on your system changed? If you added other software or hardware its probably conflicting with Finale.

Second get an updated print driver or remove it altogether. This is separate from the print spooler. It can also be the sound driver and/or the video driver so make sure both are the most latest drivers. You can not trust Windows to update drivers. You need to go to each ones web site and check for yourself. If you contact MM tech they will tell you to do that first.

Get back after you check these.

As Ernest implies, there are many possible causes. Complaints about Microsoft automatic updates go back seven years on this board.

 

The first thing I would try is to reinstall Finale and reboot. This often reestablishes paths that were corrupted by whatever caused the break.
