How can I extract 4 voices choir from a concert band score? There is not choir  or some other group in Finale 2014 extracting file. There is it in Finale 2006.

I would copy the choir staves, and paste them into a new document. If here are key or time signature changes in the piece, set up the choir as a Staff Group, first.

Thanks Mike. I did it, but Finale formed choir score on its will, not on mine. Finally I converted  that short score (9 pages) in PDF, sent to my wife laptop, copied manually new score on Finale 2006 and did my job successfully, extracting  both parts and groups. Evidently  Finale 2014 has mistake at extract file.

Best regards

Vladimir

When I need a vocal score (or piano/vocal score) I just created a custom part in Manage Parts and added the necessary voices to it. That way it would stay consistent with the full score.

When you copy a part to paste to a new one, you have to tell Finale what the new part will be. It was a little confusing at first, trying to copy a cello part and paste into a blank staff not working. Creating a new cello part, then pasting into that did the trick.

I don’t recall when this change occurred but it may have been coincident with getting cello and double bass parts correct — 2012, maybe?
