Thank you, friends. I've got a MacBook Pro. Using Finale's latest 27 I think.

Just got it and thought I'd try the reduction again. It has never before worked. unfortunately, who ever needs to just reduce contiguous lines? It seems impossible to choose staves that are not contiguous. So, I've created 2 docs to erase all the likes I don't need to reduce and that has worked. Then I pull them into an added staff at the bottom of the orchestral score. Pain in the neck. Also, should it not be possible just to bring one line in in one voice to merge with another line all at once without going measure by measure with the note mover tool? 

How many staves? Is this a full orchestra score?

Can you use Staff Sets to implode then staves you want?

And, to merge staves, look at JW Staff Polyphony. It’s pretty handy.

Not quite. there were several but now and again I didn't need a stave to mix in. JW Staff Polyphony? What is this? Oh wow, Staff sets... yes... I hadn't quite gone that far in my thinking...
