Hi, I am wanting to put together some pre-reading scores for piano, like the versions in the holiday / patriotic files. Are there settings in the set up wizard I should use or should I just try editing and saving the pre-existing files with different names? I especially like the keyboard pictures and the hand pictures but they seem to disappear when I try to edit the songs and turn them into different tunes.

If you - from the Selection Tool - double-click on an item, then Finale will switch to the tool the item was created with.
Double-clicking “the keyboard pictures and the hand pictures” takes you to the Expression Tool - and now there are small square handles on all expressions.
You can context-click a handle, to get a context menu.
And indeed the “the keyboard pictures and the hand pictures” can be seen in the Expression Selection window, in the category Miscellaneous.
If they disappear, then you probably cleared them from the layout.
But you can add them again; they are still available in the document’s Expression Selection window.
