I just downloaded Dolet for Finale Music XML hoping to be able to open a Finale (2015 or 2016) file from my engraver in my Finale PrintMusic 2011 software and nothing is working. Can anyone help me. I am a musician, not a geek!

Your engraver needs to create and send you an XML file. You can then open this file with Print Music - File Menu > Import > Music XML.

The Dolet plugin that you downloaded cannot be used with Print Music - only with full Finale. The version built in to Print Music should work just fine.

Thanks, Bruce. I have actually tried the import music XML option many times and just get a blank Finale file with a box that says:
XLM Setup error: string index out of range: -1

It used to work last year, importing from my same guy, but not now. Any more advice?

I've got the same problem under Finale 25! I use the older finale 2014.5-version to import and export xml-files. Though (I'm using the german version) the program suggests to reinstall the recommended plugin, which doesn't work.

When I tested .xml files from 25 imported into 2011 and 2014.5, I got a number of error messages. I clicked through each one and the files imported properly.

The older versions do not do not support all of 25's functionality.

Get the the latest version of the Dolet plugin here:

http://www.musicxml.com/dolet-plugin/dolet-6-plugin-for-finale/

It it cannot be used with 25 but it isn't necessary as 25 has the functionality built in.
