Accordion is playing back an octave higher than written. No transposition button is on. Tried getting around it with 8vb clefs but the whole bottom octave doesn't sound. Finale seems to only have one accordion option, Italian Musette (a dry tuned option would be good).

Anyone else had this issue and figured it out?

Im running finale 2014 on a mac

Thanks

Hi to both of you.

For anyone here to give you a definate answer, you'll need to upload the score so that someone can look at it.

you'll need to upload the score to a file sharing service and then post a link to that score here.

If you're having issues with posting a link, or cannot find a service to host your file. May I suggest you scroll to the top of the page and click on "Submit a request" This will open a ticket and you can then ask MM customer support for help. you will be able to supply them with a copy of the score.

Cheers...

Thanks but the issue isn't with my score. Its a finale 2014 thing. I got a friend to start their own new document with an accordion loaded and it did the same thing. Plays back the octave above. If anyone wants to have a look they can load their own new document. If anyone using 2014 doesn't have this issue I would be interested to hear from them.

Cheers

I'm having the same problem. Anybody have a workaround for this?

Jake Donohue (and Bart Picqueur and Maurizio Rossetto),

I agree with Darrin Smith.

To find the culprit we may need to examine an actual (small) Finale sample document.

Without seeing an actual document we can only guess.

Meanwhile, here are some thoughts:

1. Are you playing Finale through MIDI (or through Audio Units)?

Try the other playback device option, and check whether it helps.

2. Octave transposition in playback can be caused by many things:

An expression, a smart shape, a customized clef.
