I want to re-notate the passages with different bracketing than the default.  How do I do that?

Do you mean beaming, as in the broad strokes that connect eighth notes?

For either Simple or Speedy entry, go to the note located to the right of where you want to break a beam and press slash - "/". Same procedure if you'd like to connect 2 unbeamed notes.

There may be a simpler way to get what you want. If you could attach a screenshot of a short passage and explain what you want, it might help.

Thanks Bruce.  I discovered that pressing "B" also works.

Hi Jeffry

If you're talking about the brackets for tuplets, then JW Change plugin is the one to go for. (If you're not running Finale 25, that is)

The plugin can be obtained from http://www.finaletips.nu  Go to the Downloads sections and choose your OS.

Follow the instructions at the top of the plugin download page to install the plugin.

Once installed, start Finale, load your score and with the selection tool, select the region which requires changing.

From the Plugin menu, run JW Change...

In the section on the left, select Tuplets->Shape and play way to your hearts content.

For future reference, could you also note down which version of Finale you're using, and on what platform?

Cheers...
