MAC OS 10.11.6  

When I open a file in Finale 25 (trial version) the ties are placed too high above the notes.  Not sure what's wrong.  I checked the same file in 2014.5, copied the document options - ties settings, and compared them.  They're exactly the same.  Any suggestions?  By the way, I like the way it plays back in HP instantly.

It sounds like a Font Annotation problem.

 

Try this. In Finale 25, go to the File Menu > New and open a Default Document. Enter a bit of music with some ties. Do you get the same result?

Probably a font annotation problem. Try to auto-generate font annotation for your default music font.

I think you're onto the fix.  When opening a default document in Finale 25, I still get the same problem.  But it gives me this message.

Finale cannot find the file “Maestro Font Default.musx”.

Click OK to have Finale create a new document without libraries. You should reinstall the missing file from your Finale installer.

 

Not sure where to find all the fonts that show up with no problem in 2014.5
